An Introduction to Monba Nationality
With a population of 8,923, Monba people live mainly in Menyu district in southeast Tibet Autonomous Region and Counties of Motuo, Linzhi, Cuona. Monba people mainly engaged in agriculture. They are skilled in making bamboo articles and wooden bowls. The Menba language belongs to the Tibetan Branch, the Tibetan-Burmese group, the Chinese-Tibetan language family. The major festival is Monba New Year. The Memba people believe in Mahayana Buddhism or a primitive religion.
