An Introduction to Jingpo Nationality
With a population of 132,100, Jingpo live in Dehong Dai-Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province. The Jingpo language belongs to the Tibetan-Burmese group of the Chinese-Tibetan language family. The writing language is preserved.
Jingpo engage in farming and live in bamboo/wood building on stilts. Rice and corn are their basic food. A collective dancing called Munao Singing is well known and Munao Singing Festival is the most important event for Jingpuo. Jingpuo people believe in primitive religion.
