The Achang Village


  An Introduction to Achang Nationality
     With a population of 33,900, Achang live mainly in Longchuan and Lianghe Counties of Yunnan Dehong Dai Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture. Dai mainly engaged in agriculture and good at making handicraft. "Achang Knives" are well-known. The Achang language belongs to Burmese Branch, the Tibetan-Burmese group, the Chinese-Tibetan language family. Their traditional holidays include the Fair Street Festival, the Woluo Festival, the Water-Splashing Festival, etc. The Achang people believe in Hinayana Buddhism and a primitive religion.
