The Daur language belongs to the Mongolian group of the Altaic language family. The Daur engage in agriculture with animal husbandry and hunting as a sideline. Rich folk literature was well preserved. Their skills in embroidery, paper-cut and toys making are handed down for generations. Wrestling, horse racing and archery are their favorite sports.
