An Introduction to Oroqen Nationality
The Oroqen have a population of 8,196 and live in Hulunbuir League of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and in the virgin forests north of the Heilongjiang Province. They had got the name of Deer Driven Hamlet and Horse Driven Hamlet in the history. Their language belongs to the Tungus branch of the Manchu-Tungus group of the Altaic language family. Oroqen used to engage in hunting with gathering and fishing as a sideline. Their dwellings used to be a kind of tipi called "celestial pillars" and now were settled down. The Oroqen are best known for their carvings of birch bark and embroidered leather. The Spring Festival is most celebrated. Oroqen believes the Shamanism.
