An Introduction to Jino Nationality
The Jino has a population of 20,900 and live mainly in the Jino village of the Jinghong City of the Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province. They used to live in the primitive society till 1950's, practicing slash-and-burn economy, keeping records by wood-cutting. Now they engage in farming and good at growing tea. The language of Jino belongs to the Yi branch of the Tibetan-Burmese group of the Chinese-Tibetan language family. Temochie is the festival that most celebrated. Jino people believe in the primitive religion.
