The Deang Village

| An Introduction to Deang Nationality The Deang have a population of 19,700, and live in the Luxi City of the Dehong Dai-Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province. They engage in agriculture and are good at growing rice and tea. The Deang language belongs to the Va-Deang branch of the Mon-Khmer of the Austro-Asiatic language family. The Water-splashing Festival is most celebrated. Deang people believe in nature worship or Hinayana.
