An Introduction to Hui Nationality
With a population of 9,816,800, Hui live in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and other areas in the provinces of Gansu, Shanxi, Qinghai, Xinjiang, Henan, Hebei, Shandong and Yunnan. They live scattered in many parts of China and is regarded as the most widespread minority in China. They are excellent at agriculture, trade and industry. They share the Chinese language with Han. The imam, the religious professionals, speaks Arabic and Persia as well. Id al-fitr (Fast-breaking) Festival, Corban Festival and mawlid al-Nabi are most celebrated. Hui people believe in Islam.
