An Introduction to Kirgiz Nationality
With a population of 160,800, Kirgiz live in the Kizilsu Krigiz Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. There is also a small group live in the Fuyu County in Heilongjiang Province. They engage in animal husbandry and sidelined with farming. The Kirgiz language belongs to the Turkic group of the Altaic language family. The writing language is preserved. Id al-fitr (Fast-breaking) Festival and Corban Festival are most celebrated. Kirgiz people believe in Islam.
