An Introduction to Yugur Nationality
With a population of 13,700, Yugur live in the Sunan Yugur Autonomous County in Gansu Province. Yugur engage in animal husbandry and skilled in riding and archery. The Western Yugur language belongs to the Turkic group of the Altaic language family while the Eastern Yugur language belongs to the Mongolian group of the same family. The Spring Festival and Guo Hui Festival are most celebrated. Yugur believe in Mahayana.
