The prototype of the residence of Jiang Yao family is taken from Liujiamao, Mizhi county of Shaanxi province. It is a cave manor built by Han in Qing Dynasty (1616-1839). There are three sets of cave dwellings with courtyards, in the order of upper, middle and lower. The bunker, the wall gate, tunnel and the fort wall were built outside. There is a corner turret built on the northeast corner of the bunker. The entire building construct is well balanced. It looks simple, vigorous, delicate and harmonized. A typical of Chinese architecture in the northwest of China.
